Cordero di Montezemolo IL TRATTO Barolo Monfalletto® Limited Edition

Il Tratto is the Limited Edition dedicated to Barolo Monfalletto, born from the encounter between the world of wine and the art of illustration.

Created in collaboration with artist Boban Pesov, the project tells the story of Cordero di Montezemolo through an illustrated journey inspired by Paolo Cordero di Montezemolo, the Langhe, and the values that have guided the family for generations.

Every detail of the edition — from the presentation box and illustrated booklet to the exclusive label — has been conceived to transform a great Barolo into a true collector’s piece, where art, memory and terroir come together in a single narrative.

More than a wine: a story to read, preserve and share.

Barolo Monfalletto is made from grapes grown in vineyards located across different parts of our estate, following a practice that was historically widespread in the area for many years.

In the 2022 vintage, this choice takes on even greater significance. Severe drought and very limited rainfall resulted in particularly low yields and produced lots with very similar characteristics. We therefore chose to bring together the best of the entire harvest in a single cuvée, foregoing the production of our single-vineyard Barolos.

Barolo Monfalletto 2022 is the only Barolo label produced by the estate from this vintage.

Bright and intense, it shows a lighter hue than usual. On the nose, notes of pipe tobacco, liquorice, cherries in liqueur and dried lavender flowers emerge. The palate is broad and fresh, supported by enveloping tannins with a pleasantly sweet character typical of the vintage.

Structured and already highly enjoyable today, it also has the balance and depth needed to evolve in bottle over the next 20–25 years.

The Limited Edition includes:

• 3 x 750 ml bottles of Barolo Monfalletto 2022, 14.5% vol., featuring the exclusive label designed by Boban Pesov;
• 1 copy of the illustrated booklet Il Tratto, an original work created by Boban Pesov for the project.
